BEIJING, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) — In the first seven months of 2025, trade turnover between East China's Fujian Province and member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) reached 51.64 billion yuan (about 7.27 billion U.S. dollars). In particular, exports from the province reached a record high of 30.12 billion yuan, an increase of 0.9 percent year-on-year, according to data published by the General Administration of Customs on its website.

Private enterprises play a leading role in the development of Fujian Province's foreign trade sector. In January-July, their trade turnover with SCO member states increased by 6 percent year-on-year to 38.22 billion yuan. Of this, exports amounted to 22.05 billion yuan, up 3 percent, while imports reached 16.16 billion yuan, up 10.3 percent.

In the first seven months of the year, Russia, India, and Pakistan were Fujian Province's top three SCO member states, with trade turnover amounting to 24.82 billion yuan, 17.03 billion yuan, and 4.42 billion yuan, respectively. Tajikistan, Belarus, and Pakistan also ranked first in terms of trade growth with Fujian, with trade volumes growing by 311.5 percent, 37.8 percent, and 17.3 percent, respectively.

From January to July of this year, Fujian Province's exports of electromechanical products to SCO member states increased by 1.4 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, lithium-ion battery exports jumped by 592.3 percent, while clothing and plastic product exports grew by 8.6 percent and 10.4 percent, respectively. Over the same period, Fujian Province imported more raw materials from SCO member states, with crude oil, grain, and aluminum imports increasing by 15.9 percent, 36.3 percent, and 105.2 percent, respectively. -0-
