Prague, October 4 (Xinhua) — The Czech opposition movement "Action of Dissatisfied Citizens" (ANO), led by former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, has won the country's parliamentary elections, according to official results released Saturday after the votes were almost fully counted.

Based on the processing of data from more than 99 percent of polling stations, ANO received 34.6 percent of the vote, while the ruling center-right coalition SPOLU took second place with 23.3 percent.

Other parties that passed the 5% threshold included the Mayors and Independents /STAN/ movement with 11.2%, the Czech Pirate Party with 8.9%, the far-right Freedom and Direct Democracy /SPD/ movement with 7.8%, and the populist Motorists for Themselves party with almost 6.8%.

A. Babiš, for his part, called the voting results the highlight of his political career.

“We are incredibly happy and thank everyone who came to the elections,” he emphasized, stating that ANO achieved a historic result. –0–
