Gaza, October 4 (Xinhua) — Hamas announced on Friday that it had submitted its response to the US plan to end the war in Gaza to regional and international mediators. The Palestinian armed group expressed its readiness to release all living Israeli hostages and hand over the bodies of the dead.
In a press statement, Hamas also agreed to hand over the governance of Gaza to a Palestinian body of independent technocrats formed on the basis of national consensus and with the support of Arab and Islamic countries.
The statement also noted that other points in the US plan concerning the future of Gaza and the broader rights of the Palestinian people will be considered within the framework of the collective Palestinian mechanism, in accordance with relevant international laws and resolutions.
Hamas emphasized that the release of all Israeli hostages will be carried out on the basis of the exchange envisaged in D. Trump's plan, and expressed its readiness to immediately begin negotiations through intermediaries to discuss the details of implementation.
