Tbilisi, October 2 (Xinhua) — More than 5.6 million passengers used Georgian airports from January to August 2025, a 14 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024, the United Airports of Georgia reported on Thursday.

According to the agency, approximately 700 flights per week are currently operated at the country's three international airports.

During the first eight months of this year, Georgian airports handled a record number of passenger and cargo flights—24,915. This is a 15 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Georgia's busiest air traffic is with neighboring Turkey. According to 2024 data, over 1.2 million passengers were transported between the two countries, accounting for 47 percent of the total passenger traffic between Georgia and neighboring countries.
