BEIJING, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) — The Chinese military has stepped up patrols in the sea and airspace near the territorial waters of Huangyan Dao Island since September, according to a statement released by the Southern Zone Combat Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Wednesday.
The PLA Navy and Air Force have strengthened patrols and security to further strengthen control and management of relevant areas and effectively counter illegal encroachments and provocations, the statement said.
