BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) — Li Hongzhong, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met in Beijing on Friday with a delegation of the France-China Friendship Group of the French National Assembly, led by honorary chairman Claude Raynal.
Li Hongzhong, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, noted that under the strategic guidance of the heads of state, China and France have maintained close high-level exchanges and bilateral relations are developing steadily.
Li Hongzhong stated that China is willing to work with France to deepen political mutual trust, respect each other's core interests, and jointly uphold multilateralism. He also noted that both sides should expand contacts between legislative bodies, strengthen exchanges of experience in lawmaking and other areas, and promote practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
K. Raynal, for his part, announced the intention of the French-Chinese Friendship Group of the National Assembly of France to make an active contribution to the development of bilateral relations. –0–
