Moscow, September 26 (Xinhua) — A freight train collided with a heavy-duty truck in the Smolensk region of western Russia. This caused the gasoline cars to derail and catch fire, Russian media reported.

According to TASS, two locomotive crew members—the engineer and assistant engineer—were injured. They were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Three fire trucks and four recovery trains were dispatched to the scene to address the aftermath, and an emergency response center was established. Belarus also dispatched an emergency rescue and recovery train to the scene.
