Beijing, September 25 (Xinhua) — Representatives from the Chinese city of Guiyang (the capital of Guizhou Province in southwest China) and the Russian city of Volzhsky recently held a videoconference on friendly cooperation. The parties held an in-depth exchange of views on developing cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, education, and establishing sister-city relations.

According to information from the official website of the Guiyang city government, during the videoconference, the parties presented information on the socioeconomic development of their cities and put forward proposals for further cooperation. Participating agencies and companies, based on their functions and areas of activity, actively exchanged views on cooperation in agricultural trade, solar panels, and alcoholic beverages, as well as in tourism and education, reaching preliminary agreements.

This meeting marked the first contact between representatives of the two cities, as well as the first official meeting between representatives of the Guiyang administration and the Russian regional authorities, laying a solid foundation for future friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between the parties. Going forward, the Guiyang Government's Foreign Affairs Office will continue to strengthen cooperation with the city of Volzhsky, establish a mechanism for regular communication, and strive to implement the agreements reached on cooperation in trade, economic, and educational spheres, as well as to establish sister-city relations.
