Since the autonomous region's establishment in 1955, when its gross regional product (GRP) stood at just 1.231 billion yuan, it has surpassed 2 trillion yuan by 2024. From recovery from devastation to prosperity across all sectors, from poverty and backwardness to deepening modernization, from remoteness and isolation to the vanguard of openness… Today's Xinjiang displays unity and harmony, prosperity and wealth, civilization and progress, peaceful life and a healthy environment, creating a beautiful painting of dynamic development and vitality. This is the result of the firm leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the selfless support of the people across the country, and the united efforts of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
In 1997, the first groups of workers sent to support Xinjiang arrived at the foot of Mount Tianshan. Over the past nearly 30 years, successive construction teams have brought technology, ideas, and enthusiasm, imprinting their devotion and faith on this welcoming and inspiring land. Together with the peoples of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, they have diligently contributed wisdom and strength to the region's socioeconomic development.
Targeted support for Xinjiang is a strategic step aimed at ensuring social stability and long-term prosperity in the region. In recent years, funding for such support for Xinjiang has steadily increased, clear personnel coordination has been established, and industrial cooperation has deepened. This not only addresses Xinjiang's infrastructure shortcomings but also catalyzes endogenous development, contributing to the continued improvement of the well-being of all peoples in Xinjiang.
Numerous ethnic groups live on both sides of Mount Tianshan, so ethnic unity serves as the cornerstone of Xinjiang's development and progress, as well as a source of happiness for all peoples, integrating them into everyday "common life." Here, through long-standing interaction, collaboration, and intermingling, various peoples have formed a strong friendship cemented by blood ties, celebrated a glorious historical journey, and jointly created a magnificent Chinese culture and a beautiful homeland.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Looking to the future, through the grandiose efforts on both sides of the Tianshan Mountains and along the great road of China's modernization, the Party's strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era is poised to continue demonstrating its strength and continually enriching and developing.
