BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) — An art salon themed "Mixing Colors Across National Borders: Dialogue Between Chinese and Russian Painting" was held in Tongjiang City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, where outstanding Chinese and Russian oil painters held an in-depth exchange of views and demonstrated basic oil painting techniques on the spot, the Zhongxinshe News Agency reported.
At the event, artists from the two countries discussed innovation and integration of various cultural elements into oil painting art based on their practical experiences, and exchanged views on artistic development in an intercultural context.
"Thanks to the event, I met Chinese artists. Their works are very good. I like them very much," said Russian artist Irina.
The Tongjiang City Artists Association presented Russian oil painters with albums containing local works of art as souvenirs.
“I hope there will be more opportunities to interact with Russian artists in the future,” said Lu Yunting, chairman of the aforementioned association, adding that the event contributed to promoting the prosperity and development of regional culture. -0-
