BANGKOK, September 24 (Xinhua) — Over the past decades, the world has witnessed China's remarkable development and its role in global peace, prosperity, and sustainable development. The Thai people are proud to have always stood by China as a reliable friend and partner. Thai Prime Minister Anuthin Chanvirakoon made this statement on Tuesday at a reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
He said Thailand and China are as close as one family, with millions of Thais sharing common cultural roots and blood ties with their Chinese ancestors.
“This bond is the vital foundation of the friendship between our two countries, deeply rooted in the history, traditions and values we share,” said A. Chanvirakoon.
On behalf of the Thai government and people, he wished China prosperity and expressed hope that relations between the two countries would continue to develop steadily, successfully and sustainably.
Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, A. Chanvirakoon said that both sides have jointly organized a series of celebrations, adding that Thailand is ready to take this opportunity to invite Chinese tourists to visit Thailand and Chinese investors to invest in the country, and Thailand is fully prepared to warmly welcome all guests.
In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jianwei noted that China has always prioritized the development of Chinese-Thai relations in its diplomacy towards neighboring countries and remains a reliable partner of Thailand.
The diplomat said that the Chinese side is willing to work with all sectors of Thai society to faithfully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continuously deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, actively promote the construction of a China-Thailand community with a shared future to achieve more fruitful results, and jointly write a glorious chapter in China-Thailand relations in the next 50 years.
