Specialists from Rosneft's Krasnoyarsk and Tyumen research institutes held a large-scale scientific and technical seminar on the modeling of fractured reservoirs.

At the event, more than 150 experts from leading Russian oil industry companies shared their experiences implementing petrophysical and geological modeling tools and discussed issues related to digital core analysis.

Specialists from the Company's Krasnoyarsk Institute have demonstrated outstanding results in modeling complex fractured reservoirs. These reservoirs have a unique, heterogeneous void structure. Predicting well productivity in them is more difficult because oil flows unevenly.

Scientists demonstrated the significant advantage of using a dual-environment model. This model takes into account the combination of fractures and pores in the reservoir, which differ in their capacity and filtration properties. Based on the constructed model, 17 geological and engineering interventions were planned, resulting in additional oil production of over 20,000 tons.

Specialists from Rosneft's Tyumen Research Center have proposed a comprehensive approach to using core data to improve the reliability of petrophysical parameter determination and production forecasting in complex fractured reservoirs. The solution aims to identify the most productive areas and improve the efficiency of oil field development in carbonate formations.

The implementation of advanced approaches and new technologies is a key focus of the Rosneft-2030 strategy. The company places particular emphasis on innovative development, identifying technological leadership as a key factor in competitiveness in the oil market.
