The capital summed up the results of the traditional Moscow Mayor's grant competition for socially oriented non-profit organizations. From more than 700 applications, 229 of the best were selected—from patriotic initiatives to healthy lifestyle projects. Applicants could apply for one of 12 categories: volunteerism and volunteering, charity, family policy, youth initiatives, metropolitan ecology, heritage preservation, city safety, healthy lifestyle, civic initiatives, urban innovation, creative projects, and media.
"The most popular category was 'Youth of Moscow,' with 55 winners. 'Our Heritage' was in second place with 49 winners. 32 social projects won in the 'Healthy Lifestyle and Sports' category," the Moscow Mayor wrote.
Nonprofits with more than a year of experience will receive up to five million rubles, while newcomers with more than six months of experience will receive up to 500,000 rubles. The total competition budget is 600 million rubles.
Nomination "Charity"
Among the winners in the Charity category is the Stroke Foundation ORBIIt provides comprehensive support to stroke survivors and their families, and also focuses on disease prevention.
The foundation's main project is a hotline where specialists (psychologists, doctors, and lawyers) provide free, anonymous consultations. They help people understand their situation, resolve social, domestic, and legal issues, and cope with emotional difficulties after a stroke.
With the grant funds, the foundation will continue to operate the hotline and plan to organize a charity sale of items from Russian designers to support stroke survivors.
Nomination "Youth of Moscow"
The Foundation for New Technologies in Education won the "Youth of Moscow" category. BaytikThe organization is implementing the "Prof.IT" project—an early career guidance program in information technology—for sixth-graders. The students will study programming, robotics, modeling, and digital creativity at the children's IT technology park.
The program includes excursions to scientific institutes and technology companies. It is planned that over 300 students will receive career guidance and, if desired, further specialized education.
Nomination "Healthy Lifestyle and Sports"
A non-profit organization received support for the competition in the Healthy Lifestyle and Sports category. Dream LeagueHer grant project offers a unique rehabilitation program that combines physical activity and creative pursuits. It is designed for children with disabilities, including those with central palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and visual and hearing impairments.
Throughout the year, participants will engage in various sports: alpine skiing in winter, rollerblading in summer, and rock climbing in any season. Creative workshops will also be offered to support children's balanced development.
Nomination "Ecology of the Metropolis"
The fund was supported in the "Ecology of the Metropolis" nomination "Second wind", which specializes in the comprehensive management of textile waste: collection, sorting, redistribution, and recycling of clothing. The collected items are manually sorted in warehouses. Those suitable for further use are sent to low-income families or sold through charity shops, while those unusable are sent for recycling.
Educational outreach plays a key role in the foundation's activities. With the grant's support, the organization will continue to develop its workshop—an open space where visitors can not only repair old items but also try their hand at design and creativity. It regularly hosts master classes on sewing, accessory and toy making, as well as educational lectures by professional stylists on conscious consumption.
Family Moscow Nomination
The project "Workshop of Hope: Family Inspiration" won the "Family Moscow" category. International Union for Patient Care and Support, in which special military operation veterans and their families will take part in creative activities, meet with a family psychologist, and receive comprehensive support.
The project will help overcome feelings of isolation, improve psychological well-being, and gain motivation for development and self-realization.
