Beijing, September 24 (Xinhua) — The 25th meeting of the Subcommittee on Sports Cooperation under the China-Russia Humanitarian Cooperation Commission was held via videoconference on Tuesday, the China Sports Daily reported.
The meeting was chaired by Li Jing, Deputy Director of the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China, and Alexey Morozov, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation.
Both sides praised the fruitful results of Chinese-Russian sports exchanges and cooperation in recent years, exchanging views on issues such as friendly exchanges in physical education and sports between the two countries, developing talent pools for sports competitions, cooperation in winter sports and local sports exchanges, promoting traditional sports, and the China-Russia Youth Games. Many consensuses were reached.
The two sides agreed to continue implementing the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, step by step enhancing the significance of Chinese-Russian cooperation in sports, giving greater impetus to the development of physical education and sports in both countries, strengthening the profound friendship between the sports circles and peoples of the two countries, and jointly writing a new chapter in the Chinese-Russian comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in the new era.
The meeting of the Subcommittee on Sports Cooperation under the China-Russia Commission on Humanitarian Cooperation is held once a year. The event is hosted alternately by the General Administration of Sports of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.
