Baku, September 20 /Xinhua/ — The contract to host the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been extended until 2030 following the signing of an agreement between the organizers and the country's government, Baku City Circuit said on Saturday.
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali called the Baku circuit "unique" for its combination of long straights and tight turns in the historic city center, emphasizing that it "gives spectators an intense and exciting race every year."
“The contract extension reflects the high level of trust and cooperation between Formula 1, the government of Azerbaijan and the promoter, and opens up new prospects for the future of racing in the country,” he noted. –0–
