Bishkek, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) — A gala evening was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on Friday to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (or Moon Festival) for representatives of the local Chinese diaspora.
Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Liu Jiangping congratulated her compatriots living in the country on the upcoming holiday and emphasized that the great spirit of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression inspires the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation in China and abroad to overcome all difficulties and obstacles and tirelessly strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The diplomat also briefed those present on the results of the recently concluded SCO summit in Tianjin, spoke about the importance of the China Initiative on Global Governance and the latest achievements in the development of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR, Northwest China), and fully recognized the contribution of Chinese compatriots in Kyrgyzstan to promoting Chinese-Kyrgyz friendship, assuring that the embassy will continue to make every effort to provide the necessary services.
The Chinese participants in the event thanked the embassy for its support and concern, expressing their willingness to contribute to the development of their homeland and Chinese-Kyrgyz cooperation.
