CHANGCHUN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) Open Day and Changchun Air Show 2025 kicked off in Changchun, northeast China's Jilin Province, on Friday, showcasing the latest military aviation achievements through spectacular aerial shows and static displays.

The program includes performances by aerobatic and parachute teams, as well as military aircraft from the combat units of the Chinese Air Force.

Highlights of the show will include flybys of a YY-20A tanker in formation with J-16 fighter jets, a pair of H-6 bombers, and a KongJing-500 airborne early warning aircraft escorted by four J-20 stealth fighters.

"The demonstration of group maneuvers of various types of aircraft is, in essence, a transfer of our usual combat training to the airshow field," said Wu Haoran, one of the J-16 pilots.

This year's dual event will last five days. Since its inception in 2011, it has become a key platform for showcasing the PLAAF's development and strategic transformation achievements.
