Yerevan, September 18 (Xinhua) — Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, at a briefing on Thursday, described the signing of a document establishing a strategic partnership between the two countries as the most important outcome of his recent visit to China.
"It's important to acknowledge the establishment of a strategic partnership between Armenia and China. This means that our businesses have positive political momentum for deepening cooperation in the economy and other areas, and our partners simply must take advantage of these opportunities," the Armenian Prime Minister noted.
N. Pashinyan believes that unlocking regional infrastructure could solve many problems associated with transport restrictions due to the two countries' remoteness. He added that this would allow freight to be delivered from Armenia to China by rail, creating a completely different economic environment.
The Armenian Prime Minister emphasized that a very concrete partnership has been formed between Armenia and China, also aimed at developing mutual investment opportunities.
N. Pashinyan paid a working visit to China from August 30 to September 3 of this year. During the visit, he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, following which the two sides issued a joint statement establishing a strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Armenia also took part in the “SCO Plus” meeting and the events held within its framework, and attended the parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. –0–
