BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — The opening ceremony of the Second Belt and Road Initiative International Crop Science and Technology Training Course was held Wednesday at the College of Grassland Agriculture Science and Technology of Lanzhou University in northwest China's Gansu Province, the news portal lzbs.com.cn reported Thursday.

The course will last 15 days, from September 16 to 30. Sixteen renowned Chinese and international experts in related fields have been invited to deliver lectures.

The training programs focusing on the application of plant breeding theory aim to further promote the exchange and dissemination of achievements in advanced science and technology, improve the mechanisms of international cooperation, give full play to the advantages of information interconnectivity, strengthen the training of highly qualified personnel, and encourage exchanges and cooperation between relevant universities and colleges in the field of plant breeding research.

Through theoretical teaching and the exchange of advanced technologies, this training course will promote the exchange of China's agricultural technology with other countries, help countries improve their agricultural technology and personnel training capabilities, and lay the foundation for mutually beneficial regional agricultural cooperation. -0-
