BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — China's express delivery sector saw robust growth in the first eight months of 2025, handling 128.2 billion parcels, up 17.8 percent from a year earlier, according to data released Thursday by the State Post Administration.

According to the data, the country's postal industry, which includes express delivery services, processed a total of 139.92 billion parcels during the specified period, an increase of 15.5 percent year-on-year.

From January to August, the postal industry's total revenue exceeded 1.16 trillion yuan (approximately $163.33 billion), a 7.8 percent increase year-on-year. Of this total, the express delivery sector's operating income amounted to 958.37 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2 percent year-on-year.

The volume of express delivery within one city during the reporting period amounted to 10.58 billion parcels, which is 5.6 percent more than the previous year, while the volume of intercity shipments increased year-on-year by 19.1 percent and amounted to 114.92 billion parcels. -0-
