Tbilisi, September 17 (Xinhua) — For the third time in the last 20 years, camera traps have captured a leopard, listed in the country's Red Book, in Georgia's Algeti National Park. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reported this on Wednesday.

Two camera traps installed at the National Wildlife Agency's deer farm captured images of a leopard on the outer perimeter of the property's fence.

The report notes that the Panthera pardus species, listed in the International Red Book, was widespread in Georgia in the Middle Ages, but was considered extinct due to poaching activities since the mid-20th century. –0–
