HONG KONG, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) — The International Mediation Organization (IOM), headquartered in Hong Kong, will strengthen its position as a hub for international legal and dispute resolution services, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chief Executive Lee Jiachao said, pledging full support for the IOM's work.

Delivering a keynote address on Wednesday, Li Jiachao noted that the HKSAR administration will organize international conferences, professional training, internships, and other programs to help Hong Kong youth and lawyers cooperate with the IOM, training more specialists in international mediation services for Hong Kong.

"The SAR Department of Justice will construct the Hong Kong International Legal Service Building next to IOM headquarters. The building will house facilities such as the headquarters of the Hong Kong Academy for the Training of International Legal Personnel, as well as agencies providing international legal services and dispute resolution services," Li Jiachao said.

He added that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) will “intensify the promotion of legal services in Hong Kong and deepen our mediation culture, strengthening our position as an international legal center and mediation capital.” -0-
