HEFEI, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) — The 2025 World Manufacturing Conference, which will showcase advanced manufacturing technologies, will be held from Sept. 20 to 23 in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province, organizers said.

The four-day event will bring together representatives from more than 40 countries and regions, including government officials, business representatives, and senior officials from international organizations and trade associations. Foreign guests are expected to account for more than half of all participants.

For the first time, the conference will feature an intelligent robotics exhibition. Robots will be demonstrated in simulated public and domestic settings, such as stores, senior care centers, and maintenance centers, to showcase their potential applications in everyday life, according to conference organizers.

Anhui, a former agricultural province and the country's raw materials base, has emerged as a hub for emerging industries. In the first half of this year, Anhui Province ranked first in the country in automobile production, new energy vehicle (NEV) production, and vehicle exports.

According to Chang Yejun, deputy secretary-general of the provincial government, the province currently produces about 10 percent of the world's displays, 8 percent of industrial robots, 11 percent of non-electric vehicles, and half of the country's photovoltaic glass.

New energy vehicles, produced by the province's robust industrial base, are expected to be a highlight of the conference. Companies such as JAC Motors, Huawei, and Chery will showcase new models of intelligent, connected new energy vehicles, as well as automotive-grade chips, intelligent driving systems, and quantum-proof communication technologies.

The event will also showcase cutting-edge technologies of future industries, including a model of the experimental superconducting tokamak (BEST), a compact nuclear fusion experimental device currently under construction in Hefei, and the Origin Wukong quantum computer, which has so far completed more than 690,000 quantum computing tasks for users in 163 countries and regions, with over 34 million visits worldwide. -0-
