20 new single-section trams "Lvenok-Moskva" with autonomous running run on route No. 90 from the metro station "Sokolniki" to Paveletsky railway station. Part of the route runs along Akademika Sakharova Avenue – the first tram line in Russia without an overhead contact network.

"The new route No. 90, opened by Sergei Sobyanin, has proven its popularity among residents and visitors of the city. Trips in the center have become more convenient and faster. We are closely monitoring the operation of trams on the route," said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry

Maxim Liksutov.

New trams can travel more than four kilometers without connecting to wires, and on Academician Sakharov Avenue the length of such a section is about two kilometers. Energy is accumulated on other sections of the contact network. The driver lowers and raises the pantograph on the roof. This process takes minimal time and does not affect the overall travel time, since the actions are performed at stops.

The Lvenok-Moscow trams are modern single-section carriages from the Russian developer and manufacturer of urban electric transport, the company PK Transport Systems. The cabin has 41 seats, and more than 110 passengers can be comfortably accommodated here. The carriage is equipped with a climate control system, multimedia screens, sockets for charging mobile devices, and devices for addressable door opening using a button. In addition, low-floor trams are adapted for passengers with limited mobility.

The launch of the tram along Academician Sakharov Avenue, where there was previously no ground transport, significantly improved transport accessibility for more than 40 thousand employees of numerous organizations. Among them are the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Federal Property Management Agency, the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation, Rosstat, JSC Russian Railways and others.

Russia's first driverless tram, created in Moscow, was awarded a national prize

Route No. 90 connected four railway stations, 16 metro stations and Moscow Central Diameters, providing short and convenient transfers from different types of transport. It covered 300 thousand residents and workplaces, creating convenient connections for city residents and employees of various institutions.
