ACCRA, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) — Ghanaian Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on Monday said Ghana and China are significantly expanding bilateral ties through enhanced diplomatic engagement, deepening economic cooperation and joint development initiatives.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting to report on the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the past eight months, S.O. Ablakwa stressed that Ghana is one of the first African countries to benefit from duty-free access to the Chinese market for African exports.
“We have also begun discussions on a number of initiatives, including the establishment of electric vehicle assembly plants, increasing value added in the processing of bauxite into aluminum, and opening direct flights between Ghana and major cities in China,” the diplomat added.
Ghana's Foreign Minister also praised the role of Chinese investors in implementing transformational projects across the country. –0–
