The Russian Government Prize in Medical Science has been included in the list of prizes whose laureates do not pay personal income tax (PIT) of 13% on the reward they receive. An order to this effect has been signed.
The government prize in the field of medical science was approved in December 2024 and will be awarded for the first time in 2025. Its amount will be 1 million rubles.
The award will be presented to Russian scientists for developments that help preserve the lives and health of people and help solve previously unsolved medical issues. The laureates will be scientists who have achieved success in three areas – preventive and personalized medicine, neurotechnologies, including cognitive ones, and biomedical technologies. The corresponding scientific and technological solutions must be applied in practice for at least a year.
