BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — An exhibition of architectural works by the Ilya Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts opened at the university on Sept. 12, according to a statement on the website of Nanchang University in east China's Jiangxi Province. The exhibition features 55 drawings and two sculptures and will be on display until Oct. 3.
In his speech, Nanchang University Vice-President Wang Li praised the significance of this exhibition for deepening the integration of architectural and art education between the two universities.
He noted that this event is not only a living practice of cultural and artistic exchange between China and Russia, but also creates a platform for the exchange of educational resources and the joint training of international innovative talents.
He expressed hope that this would serve as an opportunity to further expand multidimensional cooperation between the two universities in the field of academic research and mutual visits of teachers and students.
Following the opening ceremony, faculty and students toured the exhibit together and discussed topics such as the integration of traditional painting techniques and contemporary architectural design, preservation and innovation in historic architecture.
This exhibition has become not only a visual and aesthetic celebration, but also a deep educational dialogue and cultural interaction, bringing new impetus to the promotion of high-quality development of architectural and artistic education in China and Russia. -0-
