CHENGDU, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — The second Golden Panda Awards ceremony was held on Saturday in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, which is considered the birthplace of the giant panda.

The international cultural event presented awards in 27 categories, covering such categories as film, television series and animation.

Best Film went to the Italian film “There’s Always Tomorrow.” Best TV Drama went to “She and Her Girls,” a biopic about Zhang Guimei, a rural school principal in mountainous China who is dedicated to empowering rural girls through education. Best Animation went to “Nezha 2,” China’s highest-grossing animated film.

This year, 5,343 applications were submitted to the competition from 126 countries and regions of the world, with 73.2 percent of the total number of applications coming from abroad.

The event included the 2025 Golden Panda International Cultural Forum, which was themed “Harmony in Diversity, Future in Unity.” The forum brought together Chinese and foreign guests to expand international cultural exchanges and cooperation, and promote dialogue and mutual learning among different civilizations. -0-
