Novokuibyshevsk Petrochemical Company (part of the Rosneft petrochemical complex) has launched production of a new asphalt-resin-paraffin deposit solvent. The product was developed by the company's technologists.
The solvent prevents and removes deposits from the walls of pipelines, tanks, compressor pipes, metal parts of pumping equipment. Asphalt, resin and paraffin deposits are a highly viscous mass of heavy oil components that settle on oilfield equipment and reduce the throughput of pipelines, the useful capacity of tanks, and can lead to a decrease in well flow rates. The main difficulty in combating such deposits is that their composition is unique at each field and it is not always possible to select a universal remedy to combat them.
The solvent of the Novokuibyshevsk Petrochemical Company is a composite mixture of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons. After cleaning, it leaves a protective layer on surfaces that slows down the formation of new deposits. The effectiveness of the formulation has been confirmed by tests by scientists from the Middle Volga Research Institute of Oil Refining.
Today, the universal and effective solvent meets the needs of Rosneft enterprises and in the future can be used by other oil producing companies in the country.
