The final of the high-tech championship will be held in Veliky Novgorod from September 17 to 21, 2025. This year, the competition is dedicated to ensuring national security and the use of dual-use technologies.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a national goal – ensuring and achieving technological leadership of the country. This requires an influx of qualified personnel into strategically important industries.
"As part of the federal project "Professionality" of the national project "Youth and Children", a high-tech championship is being held, where competencies in demand by the Russian economy are being improved. Each year, the championship covers new relevant areas. This season, these are issues of national security and the use of dual-use technologies. This year, more than 2.3 thousand people from 52 regions of Russia took part in the regional stage of the championship. 144 of the best of the best – college and technical school students, as well as high school students – reached the final. We expect that a total of 15 thousand people will take part in the events of the championship final," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
The organizer of the championship is the Ministry of Education, the federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
The competition program will be organized according to 15 innovative competencies, united into five blocks: “Unmanned Systems Technologies”, “Production and Engineering Technologies”, “Medical Technologies”, “Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies”, and “Information and Communication Technologies”.
194 industrial experts took part in developing the competition tasks and evaluating the works at the regional stage. 119 college and technical school students, as well as 25 schoolchildren from 41 regions of the country, reached the championship finals.
"We are proud that the SPO system, celebrating its 85th anniversary, is developing dynamically to meet the most pressing demands of the economy. It is important that thanks to projects such as the High Technology Championship, we can work ahead of the curve: promptly update educational standards and programs so that training in colleges and technical schools corresponds to the spirit of the times and keeps pace with modern technologies. This year, the finalists will demonstrate their knowledge and skills in such areas as cyber-immune security, industrial robotics, and the study of new substances and materials. It is precisely such competitions that give a powerful impetus to the development of the modern SPO system, strengthen ties with employers, and open the way for young people to the sought-after professions of the future," emphasized Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.
Veliky Novgorod will host the final of the high-tech championship for the third time.
"Each time, the championship expands its horizons and proves that the future of high technology and its superiority has already arrived. The development of secondary vocational education is one of the main tasks set by the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. For this purpose, new specialties are opened in colleges and technical schools. We continue to develop the infrastructure – update production workshops, repair educational buildings and student dormitories," said Acting Governor of the Novgorod Region Alexander Dronov.
The championship events include not only a competitive program, but also a business program, as well as a series of career guidance events for schoolchildren.
"The High-Tech Championship is one of the most striking projects in the secondary vocational education system. As the federal operator of the championship movement, we see our key task in ensuring the accelerated development of the project, expanding partnerships with leading Russian companies, and forming a list of innovative competencies that meet the needs of the country's economy," commented Sergei Kozhevnikov, Rector of the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
The partners of the high-tech championship will be the Prosveshchenie Group of Companies, Sberbank, 1C, R-Pharm, Natsproektstroy, Sibur, Roscosmos, Rostec, UAC and others.
The All-Russian championship movement in professional skills "Professionals" includes the "Professionals" championship and the high-tech championship. It is aimed at supporting talented youth, strengthening human resources and ensuring Russia's technological sovereignty. The organizer is the Ministry of Education, the federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
