BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — Preparations for the 12th Xiangshan Forum have been basically completed, with about 1,800 delegates, observers and journalists registered to participate, the forum's organizers said at a briefing on Thursday.
To date, more than 100 countries, regions and international organizations have confirmed their participation in the event, which will be held from September 17 to 19 in Beijing.
Wu Jiangang, head of the coordinating group of the forum's preparatory committee, said that the forum will be held under the motto "Jointly safeguard the international order, jointly promote peaceful development." The event will include 4 plenary sessions and 8 sectional sessions.
The forum's program also includes high-level dialogues, seminars for young officers and scholars, several closed-door academic seminars, interviews, special briefings, exhibitions and visits aimed at strengthening exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
According to Wu Jiangang, the participants of the upcoming forum include representatives of developed countries, large countries with emerging market economies, small and medium-sized countries, and countries from conflict zones. During the forum, participants are expected to focus on issues such as jointly defending the victorious results of the World Anti-Fascist War and the post-war international order, as well as exploring effective ways to resolve conflicts. –0–
