BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — A cargo plane loaded with 20 tons of auto parts, air conditioner accessories and other products departed from Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport in east China's Anhui Province on Thursday bound for Moscow via a stopover in Novosibirsk, marking the official opening of an international cargo route linking Wuhu in the province with Russia, according to a statement posted on the website of China's General Administration of Customs on Thursday.
Let us recall that Wuhu-Xuanzhou Airport was officially put into operation on April 30, 2021 and is located at the junction of the cities of Wuhu and Xuancheng.
It is reported that the new flight is the 8th international cargo air route launched by Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport and the first international cargo route to Europe for the airport. It will be operated twice a week, mainly carrying high-value-added goods such as electronic products and mechanical equipment, so as to expand Wuhu's economic and trade ties with Russian partners.
The GTU said that the opening of the new air cargo route is of great significance to improving the international air logistics network of Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport and promoting industrial upgrading and the development of an open economy in Wuhu City, Anhui Province and even the surrounding regions. In the next step, Wuhu Customs will further strengthen supervision and optimize services, focus on improving the convenience of cross-border logistics, and help the airport improve its international airline network. -0-
