BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — China is making every effort to achieve its 2025 economic and social development goals and will continue to implement a series of measures in the second half of the year, Zheng Shanjie, head of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), said Wednesday.

Zheng Shanjie made the statement on behalf of the State Council on Wednesday while presenting a report on the implementation of the national economic and social development plan from the beginning of 2025 at a regular session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

The report listed major work tasks for the rest of the year, including tapping the potential of domestic demand, promoting the deep integration of scientific and technological and industrial innovation, deepening reform and opening up, and preventing and addressing risks.

These objectives also aim to promote coordinated regional development and integrated urban-rural development, facilitate the transition to green and low-carbon technologies, improve people's living conditions and enhance security capabilities in key areas.

In addition, the report said the government will work to ensure stability in the labor market and business operations, improve more active fiscal policy and moderately liberal monetary policy, and make policies more targeted and effective.

In addition, efforts will be made to boost consumption by implementing incentive programs, lifting restrictive consumption rules and introducing measures to expand consumption of services, according to the report. -0-
