BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) — Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met with participants of the 2025 International Forum on Friendly Exchanges among Deputies in Beijing on Wednesday.
The NPC Standing Committee chairman stressed that legislative organs have the responsibility to make positive contributions to advancing fair and reasonable global governance and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
According to Zhao Leji, the NPC Standing Committee is willing to work with parliaments of all countries to deepen exchanges and interactions, expand coordination and cooperation at multilateral platforms, and jointly implement the Initiative on Global Development, the Initiative on Global Security, the Initiative on Global Civilization and the Initiative on Global Governance.
The forum participants noted that in the context of a complex international situation and global challenges, legislative bodies of all countries should strengthen cohesion, deepen exchanges and cooperation in lawmaking and other areas, jointly uphold international law, peace and stability in the world, and promote sustainable development. –0–
