More than 50 thousand people visited the exhibition "Far East Street", which was opened as part of the tenth, anniversary Eastern Economic Forum from September 3 to 9. The exhibition was organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District.
"The Far East Street exhibition has become a traditional part of the Eastern Economic Forum. It is visited by EEF participants and guests, residents of Vladivostok, and tourists. Every year, interest in the exhibition is growing. At one site, the pavilions of the Far Eastern regions show what they are proud of, talk about investment projects, invite people on tourist trips to see natural beauty and cultural sites, and demonstrate bright performances by creative groups. Based on the results of the exhibition, we evaluate the work of the pavilions and choose the three best. This is always a tough competitive struggle. Each region tries to ensure that its pavilion is among the winners. Far East Street was created so that visitors could learn as much as possible about how the Far East lives and where it is striving, so that it would become a little closer. I am sure that many people who visited the exhibition will want to come and see the Far Eastern regions," said Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum Yuri Trutnev.
The exhibition featured displays dedicated to the main achievements, investment potential and cultural features of 11 regions of the Far East. In particular, the exhibition guests learned about the development of border agglomerations, tourist destinations, master plans for Far Eastern cities, and the work of industrial enterprises.
"The development of the Far East largely depends on the expansion of its tourism and investment potential. "Far East Street" contributes to solving this problem year after year, enjoying great interest among the participants of the EEF, residents and guests of Primorsky Krai. The exhibition demonstrates the unique cultural and natural wealth of the Russian Far East to guests from dozens of countries around the world, revealing the potential of the macro-region and generating interest in it both abroad and within the country," emphasized Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the EEF.
As part of the opening of the "Far East Street", a ceremonial procession with a large 150 m long St. George ribbon was held along the FEFU embankment to the main stage of the exhibition. During the ceremony, the honor guard of the Pacific Higher Naval School named after S.O. Makarov brought the flag of the Russian Federation and the Victory Banner to the site, accompanied by the pop orchestra of the Moscow State University named after G.I. Nevelskoy.
One of the main themes of this year was the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Each region integrated elements related to the Victory anniversary into its program. For example, the Magadan Region presented the "Kolyma – from Victory to Victory" zone dedicated to the historical legacy – the role of Kolyma in the Victory and its contribution to ensuring the country's success during the special military operation. And the Amur Region showed an interactive stand with unique historical materials, photographs and memories of veterans.
Also, the exhibition guests were welcomed by the exposition of the Ministry of Sports, a joint pavilion of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic "Developing the Far" and two large stands of the "Voin" center. Primorsky Krai separately organized the work of the Fish Market.
In addition, the exhibition area included the "House of Falcons", where guests and participants of the forum could learn more about the birds of the falcon family: their habitats, behavioral characteristics, threats to the population, and measures taken by the state to preserve these predators. A separate exhibition, the "Arab Village", was organized at the exhibition, timed to coincide with the third international forum "Day of the Falcon".
