LANZHOU, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Russian Film Festival opened in Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province, on Friday.
The film "Karuza" was shown at the festival's opening ceremony, and a meeting of Russian directors and producers with local colleagues and viewers took place. On the same day, the family fantasy "The Bremen Town Musicians" was released in Lanzhou.
In recent years, China and Russia have seen a significant increase in exchanges in the film industry. Eight outstanding Chinese films were screened at the 2025 China Film Festival, which was held in Moscow, Kazan and St. Petersburg in May. On Saturday, the Chinese-Russian joint film “Red Silk” was released in wide release across China.
The 2025 Russian Film Festival in China is taking place from September 1 to 12 in the cities of Beijing, Xining and Lanzhou.
