KUNMING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) — China is contributing to the global intellectual landscape by offering its public intellectual goods characterized by openness and inclusiveness, according to an analysis report released Saturday.
The report, titled "Answers to the Questions of Our Time: The Global Significance and Practical Value of China's Intellectual Public Goods," was prepared by the Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with the Xinhua News Agency.
The report notes that China's intellectual contributions draw on the best of human wisdom around the world and are designed to promote dialogue and mutual learning among nations and civilizations.
China's proposals are not "confrontational" or "exclusive," do not look to its own experience as the only guide, and advocate that "cultural exchanges should prevail over alienation, mutual learning over clashes, and coexistence over a sense of superiority."
China does not regard itself as the sole source of ideas, but adheres to the principle of joint consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, calling on all countries to share their wisdom and experience, the report said.
The report also notes China's support for the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, both of which are in line with the UN agenda.
The “Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative” established by China currently brings together more than 80 countries. -0-
