QINGDAO, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) — The China-SCO Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Center was established in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, on Thursday.
At the center's inauguration ceremony, 10 key international cooperation projects targeting Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries were launched. They cover areas such as biomedicine, high-tech equipment and modern, highly efficient agriculture.
The new center will reportedly promote sustainable humanities and academic exchanges in the field of innovation, advance the selection of joint projects and promote joint innovation in priority areas, focusing on artificial intelligence, digital economy, medicine and healthcare, modern agriculture and climate change response, actively carry out bilateral and multilateral joint research and development, and promote the establishment of international joint laboratories, joint research and development centers and other platforms.
It will also encourage cross-border technology transfer, and establish an international technology transfer platform, an international think tank of SCO member states, and an alliance of think tanks to conduct in-depth exchanges with all parties on policy guidelines and practical experience in scientific and technological innovation. -0-
