BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — A grand theatrical performance to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday evening, attracting about 6,000 spectators.
Among the audience were Chinese party and state leaders Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi and Han Zheng. Before the performance, Xi Jinping and other leaders exchanged warm handshakes with war veterans.
The gala concert entitled “Triumph of Justice” retrospectively presented the great history of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, highlighted the role of the Communist Party of China as the main pillar of resistance, praised the heroism of the Chinese people in the fight against the invaders, and showed the unbending spirit of the Chinese nation, which occupies a worthy place in the family of nations of the world. –0–
