BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — Chairman of the Central Military Commission Xi Jinping on Wednesday signed an order to award all participants in a military parade held Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The order states that the servicemen who took part in the parade presented a spectacle that showed the spirit forged in the war of resistance, embodied the characteristic features of the era, and displayed the scope of a great power and the strength of a powerful army.
As noted in the order, the parade fully demonstrated the determination and steadfastness of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) in firmly protecting the country's sovereignty, security and development interests, as well as upholding world peace.
The order calls on all branches of the armed forces and service personnel to learn from the example of the parade participants and strive tirelessly to achieve the goal of the PLA's centennial in a timely manner, accelerating the transformation of the Chinese military into a world-class armed force. –0–
