BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Tuesday.
A. Lukashenko arrived in China to participate in the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, as well as in commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
According to Cai Qi, under the strategic leadership of Chairman Xi Jinping and President A. Lukashenko, Chinese-Belarusian relations have maintained the momentum of rapid development, and the meeting between the two leaders on August 31 brought significant results and gave new impetus to the development of bilateral ties.
Cai Qi stressed that the Chinese side is ready to work with Belarus to follow the important agreements reached by the heads of the two states, strengthen political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as strengthen inter-party exchanges and enhance international cooperation.
A. Lukashenko, for his part, noted that China is the pillar of peace and stability throughout the world, assuring that Belarus firmly supports the Global Governance Initiative put forward by Chairman Xi Jinping, which is extremely important for promoting the construction of a more just and rational system of global governance.
