KABUL, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) — Eight people were killed and four others injured when their car overturned in northern Afghanistan's Jawzjan province on Monday afternoon, provincial police spokesman Qari Abdul Sattar said on Tuesday.

Citing careless driving as the cause of the fatal accident, the official added that the accident occurred in Akca district on Monday afternoon, leaving eight passengers dead on the spot and four others injured.

Having violated traffic rules, the driver was carrying 12 passengers in a car that has a capacity of no more than five people, the official added. –0–
