Tbilisi, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) — Georgia will introduce a special residence permit for foreign IT specialists starting September 1, 2025. The Georgian Justice Ministry has released a list of required documents.

As noted by the department, the permit is issued for three years, but is cancelled if the person is absent from the country for more than 183 days a year.

Residence permits are also available to family members of IT specialists. They provide the right to legal residence and access to certain government programs, but do not allow participation in political life, the acquisition of agricultural land, or the use of programs for citizens of the country.–0–
