WINDHOEK, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) — The Namibian government has launched a nationwide school rehabilitation campaign to rebuild dilapidated infrastructure in all constituencies of the country.
The programme was officially launched on Wednesday by Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare at Mukuvi Primary School in Kavango East in north-eastern Namibia.
The campaign aims to equip all schools in Namibia with functional toilets, laboratories and other necessary facilities. According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, this is part of a broader vision to create a conducive learning environment that contributes to the achievement of national education goals.
The statement said the government plans to use the skills of unemployed vocational school graduates and other community members with relevant skills to carry out the jobs.
In his speech, E. Ngurare stressed that the country has produced qualified graduates of vocational and technical institutions who are ready and able to contribute to national development. –0–
