BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — China Post will issue a set of commemorative stamps on Sept. 3 to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
A total of 6 million sets of these will be issued, each containing 13 stamps. 5 million souvenir sheets will also be issued.
The stamp set and souvenir sheet with a total face value of 20.8 yuan (about US$2.9) will be available at designated post offices and online stores for six months.
The commemorative stamps, with elements of thematic sculpture patterns and fragments of historical photographs, depict key battles of the 14-year Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, which lasted from 1931 to 1945. The souvenir sheet with the commemorative emblem is intended to convey the idea of preserving peace and creating a better future. -0-
