BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — The People's Bank of China (PBOC, central bank) on Thursday announced a decision to issue a series of commemorative coins to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War from Sept. 3.

The set includes one copper alloy coin, one 8-gram gold coin, one 150-gram silver coin and one 30-gram silver coin, which are legal tender in the country, the PBOC said.

The obverse of all coins features the national emblem of China with the inscription “People's Republic of China” in Chinese above the emblem and the inscription “2025” below it.

The reverse of the coins is decorated with various elements, including themed sculptures and historical museums, as well as Chinese characters denoting “the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War”.

The 8-gram gold coin and 150-gram silver coin will have face values of 100 yuan (about $14) and 50 yuan, respectively, while the copper-alloy coin and the coin containing 30 grams of pure silver will have face values of 10 yuan each. -0-
