Tashkent, August 28 (Xinhua) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, local media reported on Thursday, citing the press service of the Uzbek leader.
“On August 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, who is in our country on an official visit,” the statement said.
As reported, during the meeting, issues of further strengthening Uzbek-Japanese strategic partnership relations and increasing multifaceted cooperation were discussed.
"The ongoing active contacts and dynamic development of practical cooperation were noted with particular satisfaction. The fruitful results of the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue of the Foreign Ministers of the two countries held today were highly appreciated," the statement said.
It is noted that trade turnover is growing, and large investment projects are being implemented with the participation of leading Japanese companies.
