BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) — Flower arrangements have been completed in Tiananmen Square and Chang'an Avenue in central Beijing ahead of a large-scale military parade to celebrate Victory Day scheduled for early September.

Ten compositions were created using more than 100 plant varieties, the Beijing Municipal Gardening and Greening Administration reported. They noted that the compositions are dedicated to the theme of commemorative events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War – "remembering history, honoring the memory of fallen heroes, preserving peace and opening up the future."

The flower arrangements will be on display after the military parade and until China's National Day in October. -0-
