WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steven Witkoff said on Tuesday that he will meet with Ukrainian officials in New York this week.
“I’m meeting with the Ukrainians this week. So I’ll be meeting with them this week in New York,” he told Fox News.
The special representative said that US and Russian officials are in regular contact. “We hope that by the end of this year, and maybe a little earlier, we will be able to find the necessary ingredients for a peace agreement,” he said.
According to S. Witkoff, Ukraine is considering Russia's peace proposal, and Moscow has expressed a desire to resolve the conflict.
