Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Alexey Besprozvannykh, during which the parties discussed key issues of the socio-economic development of the region.
"The Kaliningrad Region maintains a good pace of development. I can say that it is doing well in road construction. 92.8% of the road network in urban agglomerations, 58.4% of regional roads and 87.6% of federal roads have been brought to standard condition. The region is implementing an important project of the Primorsky Ring, which, among other things, involves the creation of a northern bypass of Kaliningrad. In addition, the drawbridge across the Pregolya River on the Kaliningrad-Sovetsk railway is being reconstructed,"– said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that since 2019, about 66 thousand square meters of emergency housing have been resettled in the Kaliningrad Region, thereby improving the living conditions of more than 4.3 thousand people. In addition, work is underway to modernize the communal infrastructure. A treasury infrastructure loan of 4.2 billion rubles was approved for the reconstruction of wastewater treatment facilities in Kaliningrad.
Marat Khusnullin also noted that a large-scale project to create a cultural, educational and museum complex is being successfully implemented in Kaliningrad. It provides for the construction of modern exhibition venues, theater stages, creative educational institutions and housing for students and employees. Among the commissioned facilities is a branch of the Tretyakov Gallery, which opened on June 12, Russia Day.
The new building of the World Ocean Museum "Planet Ocean" with an area of over 10 thousand square meters is also already functioning. The construction of the large facility was carried out by the forces of the PPK "Unified Customer".
In addition, the creation of the Kantiana university campus on the basis of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University is ongoing. In total, six modern academic buildings and two dormitories for 2.5 thousand people with co-working spaces, a fitness zone, a food court and recreational areas will be built on the campus.
"A very constructive and productive meeting took place. Such attention and assistance from the federal government allow us to confidently solve strategic tasks to improve transport infrastructure and enhance the quality of life of people," noted Kaliningrad Region Governor Alexey Besprozvannykh.
